High-Pressure High-Temperature Corrosion Test Reactor
As part of a strategic project for IFP Energies Nouvelles, IRIAN MECATRONICS has designed and manufactured a custom experimental system dedicated to corrosion testing under extreme pressure and temperature conditions.
Key technical features
Operation under extreme conditions
Each reactor is designed to withstand pressures up to 130 bar and temperatures up to 500 °C.
Materials adapted to aggressive environments
The test cell and all fluid-contact parts are made of Inconel 625, a nickel-based alloy offering outstanding resistance to oxidation and high temperatures. Fastening elements are in stainless steel A286, while ceramic bearings ensure long-term durability.
Efficient and secure agitation system
Mixing is provided by a magnetic drive stirrer, eliminating dynamic seals and leakage risks. Depending on test requirements, the system can be equipped with either a propeller or a rotating cage with counter-blades.
High-precision thermal control
Heating is managed by a heating collar coupled to an Eurotherm regulator. Multiple thermocouples ensure accurate monitoring, with a precision of ±1.5 °C at 375 °C. Redundant safety devices guarantee automatic shutdown in case of overheating.
Modular high-pressure connections
Each reactor is equipped with three top ports and one bottom port using the Autoclave SF250CX standard, allowing easy integration of sensors, injection lines, or sampling devices.
Integrated safety by design
Two levels of pressure protection (sensor + rupture disc) and two levels of temperature protection (software threshold + safety thermocouple) provide complete safety for both equipment and operators.
