Volumetric Pressure Regulation Pump for Bacterial Chemistry Applications
We present our volumetric pump, designed in response to a request from the CNRS Bacterial Chemistry Laboratory. This pump is intended to regulate pressure for an observation cell with a volume capacity of up to 500 µL, adhering to specific technical requirements.
Technical Specifications:
- Operating Pressure: 600 bar
- Compatible Liquids: Saline water, Na₂S
- Temperature Regulation: Double jacket system for thermal control
- Capacity: To be determined
Pump Features: This volumetric pump features a screw/gear architecture combined with a ball screw, providing an effective and reliable solution for various applications. Key features include:
- Operating Pressure: 600 bar
- Volume Capacity: 12 cc
- Flow Rate Range: 0.002 cc/min to 5 cc/min
- Non-linearity Error on Pressure Reading: 0.25% EM
- Temperature Regulation: Integrated double jacket for maintaining fluid temperatures from 0°C to ambient temperature.
- Easy Maintenance: Quick removal of the pump cap for internal cleaning of the reservoir.
- Advanced Functionality: Flow setpoint, pressure setpoint (with or without ramp), pressure regulation.
- Data Acquisition Capability.
- Construction Materials: Stainless steel 316 (titanium option available, see quote).
- Hydraulic Connections:
- Two hydraulic connections on the pump cap: 10-32″ UNF (compatible with VALCO fittings for 1/16″ tubing, zero dead volume).
- Two quick-acting shut-off connectors on the double jacket.
- Two manual valves connected to the pump inlet and outlet.
- Pressure Filling Under Containment: Ability to fill the pressurized section (cylinder, cap, piston, etc.) under glove box conditions and connect to the ball screw once filled.
- Remote Control: PC control via RJ45 (PC not provided).
- Certifications: Hydrostatic testing of the hydraulic section and CE machine certification.
Advantages of the Architecture: The screw/gear design ensures a non-reversible mechanical drive, allowing for significant mechanical reduction. In the event of a power outage, this design helps maintain pressure in the pump reservoir, providing increased safety and reliability.
This volumetric pump effectively addresses the specific needs of the CNRS Bacterial Chemistry Laboratory for precise and reliable pressure regulation under high pressure.
