Everything about Irian Mecatronics

Who we are, the equipment we design, how a project works, maintenance and quality: answers to the questions researchers and engineers ask us most often.

01

About us

What is Irian Mecatronics?

A French company that designs and builds custom scientific and industrial equipment for high-pressure and high-temperature work: test benches, reactors, cells and injection systems. We deliver complete systems, from mechanical design to commissioning and maintenance.

Where does Irian Mecatronics come from?

From the union, completed in 2022, of two areas of expertise: ACEI Services, with nearly thirty years of maintenance and retrofit of laboratory equipment, and the design office Sanchez Advance Technologies, founded by José Sanchez, a pioneer of PVT cells. We therefore design, build and maintain our own equipment.

What does “mechatronics” mean to you?

Mechanics, electronics, automation and software brought together. We do not deliver a vessel on its own but a complete instrument: precision mechanics, sensors, actuators and control, designed together by the same design office.

Why “Mecatronics” without an “h”?

So that the name sounds natural in French: “Meca-tronics” rather than “Me-sha-tronics”. It also reflects our two pillars: high-pressure mechanics and control electronics.

02

Our equipment

What equipment do you build?

Mostly custom equipment: reactors, autoclaves and cells, pumps and injection systems, and test benches for geosciences, process pilots, extreme environment simulation and fluid dynamics. We also offer two product ranges available in several configurations: PVT cells and triaxial testing systems.

What pressures and temperatures can you reach?

Each system is sized for the conditions of your test. Our projects range from a few bar to several thousand bar, and from cryogenic temperatures to several hundred degrees, depending on the fluids and materials involved. Tell us your conditions and we will tell you what is feasible.

What is a custom test bench for?

To test, validate or qualify a material, a component or a process under conditions that no off-the-shelf equipment can reproduce: corrosion in H2S or CO2, hydrogen or CO2 storage, reservoir fluid studies, accelerated ageing, component fatigue, geothermal energy…

What is a PVT cell?

An instrument that measures how a fluid behaves (phase changes, density, compressibility) as its pressure, volume and temperature change. It is our historical speciality, inherited from José Sanchez: its design requires a high level of mechanical and metrological expertise for reliable measurements.

03

Who we work for

Who are your customers?

Public research laboratories (universities, research institutes), industrial R&D centres and production teams: researchers, process engineers and test managers.

Which fields do you work in?

Energy and the energy transition (reservoir fluids, cementing, corrosion, hydrogen, carbon capture and storage), geosciences and rock mechanics, deep-sea simulation, chemistry and processes (pilot reactors, supercritical fluids), materials testing (ageing, fatigue, burst) and fundamental research in thermodynamics.

Do you work internationally?

Yes: we deliver, install and maintain our equipment for laboratories and industrial customers on several continents.

04

How a project works

How does a custom project work?

In seven stages: analysis of your needs, specification (pressure, temperature, fluids, measurements), design and calculations by our design office, manufacturing and assembly in our workshops, factory acceptance tests before shipping, installation and training on your site, then follow-up and maintenance.

How quickly do you reply to a request?

We do our best to reply quickly: an engineer from our design office will get back to you as soon as possible. They will get back to you to clarify the technical points, then we send you a pre-study or a budget offer.

Will my information remain confidential?

Yes. A non-disclosure agreement can be signed before any technical discussion, and your project information is used only to answer your request.

How can I get a quote?

Through our contact form or by phone. Describe your need (fluid or material, pressure, temperature, expected measurements, timeframe) and attach your specification if you have one.

05

Maintenance and retrofit

Do you maintain your equipment?

Yes, it is at the heart of our history. We offer preventive maintenance contracts and corrective interventions, on site or remotely.

Do you service equipment from other manufacturers?

Yes. With our experience in multi-brand maintenance, our technicians work on many laboratory and pilot systems that were not built by us.

Do you handle the periodic requalification of pressure equipment?

Yes. We prepare and carry out the periodic requalification required by pressure equipment regulations: inspection, hydrostatic test, check of safety accessories and update of the equipment file. Depending on the equipment, we do it in-house or with an accredited inspection body such as APAVE. It can be scheduled together with preventive maintenance, so the equipment is stopped only once.

What is a retrofit?

Upgrading existing equipment that has become obsolete: new sensors, new control system and software, replacement of components, safety upgrades. Your equipment gets many more years of service for much less than a new one.

06

Quality and locations

What certifications and standards do you follow?

We are ISO 9001 certified. Our pressure equipment is designed in accordance with the European Pressure Equipment Directive (2014/68/EU), and we can meet other standards on request (ATEX, ASME…).

Where are you located?

Our design office and workshops are in Morlaàs (south-west France), and our head office is in Moissac.

Your question is not listed?

Tell us about your project: an engineer from our design office replies as soon as possible. A non-disclosure agreement can be signed before any technical discussion.
